We are an inclusive marketplace carrying local and sustainable produce, flowers, coffee, prepared foods, home goods and more. 

As the Janitor + Dishwasher, you'll take the lead on keeping Farmette’s entire facility clean and maintained. 

Responsibilities

You’ll report directly to the General Manager + Farmette’s founder Katie Burdett, and collaborate with the entire small Farmette team. 

• Dishwashing: Washing, rinsing, sanitizing, drying and restocking.
• Cleaning: This includes laundry, bathroom, floors, rugs, walls, windows, sinks, tables, surfaces, equipment and all indoor + outdoor areas. This includes both deep cleaning and maintaining regular cleaning schedules.
• Trash and waste management: Collect and dispose of trash and recycling, maintain trash and recycling receptacles, and ensure the area is free of debris. 
• Restocking: Accept packages, maintain and restock all facilities with necessary supplies. 
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements.

• Able to work both independently and as a team. We are a respectful and positive work environment.
• Reliability a must.
• Detail oriented and work with a sense of urgency.
• Open to feedback with the understanding that the whole team is working towards the same goal.
• Keep a positive and professional attitude with co-workers, customers + vendors.
• Be able to handle the physical work of being on your feet, walking, talking + cleaning. 
• Occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs. Reach, bend and stoop frequently.
• Live within a reasonable driving distance to New Buffalo and have access to reliable transportation.
• Prioritize safety and security and lock all doors during closed hours.
• We are a non-smoking workplace for the safety of our on-site farm.
